Central Piedmont Community College is a cultural resource for Mecklenburg County. For nearly 40 years, the College has presented the finest music and theatre to the community, while offering professional development and educational opportunities to students pursuing performing arts careers.
Each year, the CPCC Performing Arts Program presents four CPCC Theatre productions from September through April; two Opera Theatre productions in November and April; and five Summer Theatre productions in June and July. Performances are presented in the award-winning Dale F. Halton Theater and Pease Auditorium.
CPCC Theatre
Each fall and spring, our CPCC Theatre brings outstanding live theatre to Mecklenburg County. These presentations range from dramas to musicals and showcase talented actors and students.
Opera Theatre
An artistic training ground, Opera Theatre offers opportunities to aspiring performers, set designers, directors, stage managers and musicians. Each of the two annual opera productions involves more than 100 people, affording the community a rich and unique experiential learning environment in an outstanding setting.
Summer Theatre
Since 1973, CPCC Summer Theatre has presented professional summer stock to Charlotte. Drama students have the unique opportunity to work with professional actors, designers, directors and technicians and the community has access to affordable, quality productions.
